No witty intro, I'm jumping right in this week. You heard us talking about it on previous episodes, now was the time for Soulful Texas Live presented by Bavu Blakes and AustinSurreal. 3 Hip-Hop acts with LIVE bands, and it wen't down. First before I forget let me give some love to DJ Knowledge and Wes Sanders for holding it down on the tables. Opening up the night was Black Mike with Kemistry. Nice way to jump the evening off.
The soulful groove kept rolling with The Mojoe Family band. These two cats (with live band), who originated from San Antonio, have been doing the damn thing. They even had fans FLY out from Seattle to catch their performance. Next time you don't feel like driving 30 mins to support your favorite act, think about that! We even got a shout out from the fam at www.Austinhiphopscene.com who was in the house checking it out.
Then Mr. Blakes and The Extra Plairs were up to bat, and best believe they knocked it out of the park. The crowd was thick and ready to hear good music and see a great performance, and they got their money's worth. For some crazy reason, there is a three second blackout in the middle of the footage, thats what I get editing till 3 a.m. If you wasn't there to experience it live, the least you can do is check out the vid and show these artist some LOVE for real.
